The 2014 SHOT Show is here and the chaos of the hunting and shooting industries’ largest trade show is under way. I spent the first day walking around looking for some of the best gadgets I could find.
If you want to protect your hearing and enhance it at the same time, ProSounds and their counterpart,Ghost Stryke earplugs, from SpotEar are for you. They come in three different color options: black (pictured below), tan and pink. MSRP $399.
The next thing I ran across was “The Sky’s The Limit” with “Range Cloud” by Laser Mark. It’s a laser target system that works with your gun. All you have to do is install the laser into the barrel of your gun, plug the dongle (mini USB thumb drive) into your computer or mobile device, and you’re ready to go. Every time you pull the trigger, the vibrations from the firing pin cause the laser to send a beam downrange. If the laser hits the target, it sends a signal back to the app on your computer or mobile device and gives you a point. MSRP: $239.95.
The iQ Pet Star Walk is a device the whole family can enjoy, and your dog will benefit from it. It’s basically a collar for your dog that talks to your smartphone. The main function of the Star Walk is tracking your dog’s activity each day. It allows you to set goals for your pet; compare your pet’s activity to other pets in your area; and you can even change the color of the LED light in the color. In my opinion, this is a great tool to help stay motivated to keep your pup in shape during the winter. I almost forgot: For those of you who have your dog trained, with the vibrate function on a regular e-collar, the Star Walk has a vibrate function. I’d give you an MSRP, but this cool new product hasn’t actually been released yet. Keep your eyes open for this one.
