The Obama administration will do nothing to support the use of fossil fuels. He has stated more than once that he wants to price oil and coal out of existence!
Could US lose access to Keystone oil? Canada moves to Plan BJanuary 22, 2014 at 6:03 pm #11997
There was just a news story on TV (WBZ?) about the pending increase in fuel oil this winter and a possible shortage. The story stated that although there is great advances in drilling technology and oil production, there was no growth in pipelines or refineries to help with domestic fuel consumption…. Hmmm.. I wonder why that is?January 24, 2014 at 10:30 am #12065
Therein lies the problem as we have plenty of oil but lack the refineries and pipelines to get it to them. This should be something that WE THE PEOPLE stand UNITED on and make happen or WE will suffer the higher prices. With the big find in Australia last year and with what we have right here in our own country should be more than enough to bring down oil and gas prices alone. WE need at least 2 more refineries and could really use 4 but getting the permits to build and the pipelines to move it are the problems. Record natural gas usage as well as heating oil this winter are creating problems for a plethora of people from the company’s down to the end users.January 31, 2014 at 6:57 am #12278
There was also a DOT study a few weeks back that noted the increased danger of transporting fuels with trucks and/or rails vs pipelines.
