Yup, same username at Huntingnet… Spend most of my time in the Whitetail, and political forums, but as of next weekend when my wolf hunt starts I’ll probably find my way to the predator hunting forum as well. After the hunting ends I’ll probably get more active in the firearms, and reloading forums as well, and maybe the Off Season forum.November 23, 2013 at 7:12 pm #9413
Yup, now my home PC lost the sign in and I have to use chrome here to. I’d say this is getting irritating, but it is beyond that!November 26, 2013 at 7:52 am #9491
Hay I was able to get on this morning frist attempt using IE , no redirect, janrain capture worked, no error 500 or 400 or down for maint. a real fluke this morning?????November 26, 2013 at 11:30 am #9503
I had been getting the down for maintenance message for the last 2 days but was able to log in this am. I was hoping that during the down time they would fix the back button issue as well as the speed but alas both are still the same so my question is ” What exactly was done while the site was down ????? ” if anything at all.November 26, 2013 at 1:07 pm #9507
not a fuckn thingNovember 27, 2013 at 8:54 am #9597
This used to be a great site but over the last few years it has become a very poor site to find your way around and the slow speed is unbelievable. If I wasn’t a lifemember I would give up on this whole organization.November 27, 2013 at 3:31 pm #9637
Yep this last change ran most of the good people off here and they don’t seem to give a shit about it .
Well here I am .November 27, 2013 at 3:32 pm #9638
But I do see a lot of new names on here .Welcome all .
Well here I am .November 27, 2013 at 4:10 pm #9642
They made changes to the site without even asking what members liked / disliked. They have had plenty of time to fix the basics, like getting the login button to work for internet explorer.
Personally I liked the setup of POSTS and VIEWS instead of VOICES and POSTS. Allot people will view and follow, but not interact.
I also miss the “LAST UNREAD” button that let you know if new posts were added to topics and brought you to the first unread post of a topic.November 28, 2013 at 7:08 am #9686
There are a lot of good working forum formats out there. This isn’t one of them. It lacks a lot of useful features and the ones it has do not work, like reply notifications.November 30, 2013 at 11:58 pm #9752
I managed to get in this time! Some days it never loads the page so I wait a few DAYS before trying again. That usually works, usually but not always. The POSTS and VIEWS was IMHO 1000x better than VOICES and POSTS. The entire old way of posting and viewing posts was superior to this crap they forced on us. Also the last unread was one of the better things that this site ditched. The log in on the left side that should be on top is annoying, but the new site sure is awful purdy ( well awful at least )!
I wonder how much $ they wasted on the new site? They could have asked everyone on the old site for their input before screwing it all up.
I do not like the blogs that are little more than advertisements, yes some of tidbits of useful information, however they push a certain brand by name and pictures and act like only that brand can be used. Seems like a money grab by greedy owners\management. Impartial advice is great, pushing 1 brand not so nice.
Thanks for irritating and abandoning so many with more knowledge and experience than many of the employees. I guess life members do not count after you squeeze all of the $ you can from them? I was going to upgrade to life but the night I went to make that change, you changed the site.December 1, 2013 at 10:01 pm #9800
If I was not a lifer I would not be here.
Well here I am .December 2, 2013 at 8:03 am #9802
yep,the only reason I’M STILL HERE IS TO BE A THORN IN WEBBYS SIDE and try to discourage any new members from becoming lifersDecember 4, 2013 at 6:50 am #9937
I discovered something that helps speed up this site, as well as make the log-in work much easier. It’s called Bluehell, and it’s an ad-blocker add on available from Mozilla for Firefox. Now when I click onto this site, all of the advertisements are gone, so no waiting time for all of that crap to download and slow down the process. I got the idea after reading ckell’s comments about the amount of information that was being downloaded and his belief that had something to do with the problems here. After deleting my old add blocker and reading the reviews of some of the newer add on blockers that are available, I decided to give Bluehell a try. I am very pleased and suggest that those of you who already use Firefox as your browser, look into it and give it a try! It’s certainly helped improve this site, and it also has sped up other sites that had a lot of advertisements on them, especially the Deer and Deer Hunting site.
NRA LM, NAHC LM, Buckmasters LM, Second Amendment Foundation, NAGR, GOA, Palmetto Gun Rights, DU, NWTF, QDMA, Everyday Hunter, My Fellow Hunter, American Sportsmen's Alliance, Deer and Deer Hunting, Hunt Talk, and proud SC redneck Rebel for life.December 9, 2013 at 5:22 am #10107
There was a brief time when I thought they might be making progress. Most of the day Saturday I could log in. After doing that, the main page loads. Just when you are going to click on a link, it goes blank and loads again. After that, everything I clicked on for the site went to a blank page. the log in still has to load the home page twice. Notifications for forum subscriptions still does not work. The forums in general are a jumbled mess. No rhyme or reason to the format.
