just wanted to say hello to the iowans on here. i am in the Marines, and am stationed in the middle of the desert in california… not to many bow hunting opportunities out there other than calling in predators. im coming back from a deployment to japan soon (but not soon enough), and should make it back to iowa in time for the second split of bow season. i own no land, so my hunting areas are limited. i was wondering if anyone knew of any good public land around warren county or ringgold county, as that is where i will be spending most of my christmas leave. doesnt have to be in those counties, i am more than willing to travel further if thats what it takes to get some hunting in. anyway, let me know if you have any suggestions and and hope everyone has a successful hunting season!October 17, 2013 at 10:18 pm #7107
Hi, eddie15! Thanks for your service to our great country, Marine!
If you make it as far west as Page County, I could help you find some ground to hunt.October 20, 2013 at 5:18 pm #7249
Thanks slaymaker, ill be sure to message you ahead of time if i cant find anything closer, i finally found a map online that shows all the public land in iowa. not really a very good one, and i dont know how accurate the perimeters are, but it at least gives me an idea as to whats around my areas. my brother has been hunting the public land near Mt. Ayr, but says every driveway is full of trucks, and you cant walk a couple hundred meters in any direction without running into hunters, so im not really counting on that spot. ill let you know though when it gets closer to that time. and thanks again!October 21, 2013 at 6:39 pm #7316
