Don't Stink And Drive

Friends, please don’t let friends stink and drive.

When driving deer the new-fashioned way—pushing into the wind with blockers having their backs to the wind—everyone should be as odor-free as possible, just as they would during a close-range bow hunt. This means taking all the normal precautions, such as washing all of your clothes in odor-free detergent, taking a shower with odor-killing soap and shampoo, applying specialized deodorant, utilizing cover scents and staying sweat-free in the field.

I’ve had good success with Scent Killer Gold from Wildlife Research Center, as well as Code Blue’s EliminX with Silver-Zyme. Both odor-killing sprays can help during deer drives because your odds for making a good shot improve dramatically when deer are comfortable and either stopped or walking slowly.
