This morning, before planting my backside in a desk chair to write this blog post, I couldn’t resist squeezing in some treestand time. Why did I wake up at 1 a.m. with whitetails on my mind? Because it’s the rut! So, I grabbed my smartphone, checked the sunrise ScentCone for my public-land honey-hole and reset my alarm to wake me up in time for a quick morning sit before work.
“Rut” is a word you can’t escape this time of year. Everyone is talking about it.
