If you spend any time watching the national weather reports, you know that those of us living in the North have experienced a cold and snowy winter. Personally, I love it. Once deer season closes, my family and I spend time ice skating, sledding, skiing and snowmobiling.
Because I’ve logged thousands of miles behind the windshield of a snowmobile, I can tell you first-hand that the driver featured here would have been scared to death when he saw a whitetail jump in front of his machine. In a situation like this one—a groomed snowmobile trail winding through a thick swamp/forest—there’s really nothing he could have done to avoid the collision.
Thank God it wasn’t a moose.
Until next time …
